The FDA has approved a New Drug Application for Viread® (tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) oral powder in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in paediatric patients aged 2 to 5 years. The oral powder formulation uses the Aptalis Microcaps® taste-masking technology.
In the UK, Viread is not licensed for use in children.
