European CHMP issues positive opinion on wider age range for rotavirus vaccine (Rotateq)

The Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) has adopted a positive opinion recommending extension of age range for rotavirus vaccine (Rotateq) from the age of 6 weeks to 32 weeks (previously 24 weeks) for prevention of gastroenteritis due to rotavirus infection. RotaTeq is to be used on the basis of official recommendations.
