The All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG) has issued a Statement of Advice for telavancin (Vibativ®) for the treatment of adults with nosocomial pneumonia.

The Advice states that in the absence of a submission from the holder of the marketing authorisation, telavancin cannot be endorsed for use within NHS Wales for the treatment of adults with nosocomial pneumonia (NP) including ventilator associated pneumonia, known or suspected to be caused by methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
