According to the PSNC, Roche have advised that there will be stock shortages of Xenical® 120mg capsules (orlistat; generic equivalents are available) and Mircera® Pre-filled Syringe (methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta) throughout February and March 2012.

Xenical® 120mg capsules: There is a temporary interruption to the supply chain and it is not known how long this will last; further communication will be issued in March 2012.

Mircera® Pre-filled Syringe: There is an interruption to the supply chain due to manufacturing issues, which may continue for a number of weeks.  Stock levels in Roche’s UK Distribution Centre are different across the presentations, with the 150mcg and 250mcg strengths in shortest supply currently.   They are anticipating that key presentations will be out of stock by the 1st February 2012, with others affected during February and March.  Roche will inform retail pharmacies upon ordering if they cannot supply a particular presentation and this may result in the pharmacist having to refer their patient back to the prescriber.
