The ‘Behind the Headlines’ service from NHS Choices has featured an assessment of press reports that medical regulators have launched an investigation into a type of hip replacement called a metal-on-metal (MoM) device (DePuy ASR hip replacement implant). The MHRA issued a product recall for these implants in 2010 and the press reports relate to subsequent developments.
