The BBC reports that Nurofen Plus® is to go back on sale in tamper proof packaging following the product’s recall after the discovery of contaminated packs in late August (see previous NeLM report). Five packs were found to contain anti-psychotic and anti-epileptic drugs. It is anticipated that new stock will be available from pharmacies next week. The company (Reckitt Benckiser) told BBC news that the packs would be individually wrapped in clear cellophane.
According to BBC news, a 30 year old man has been remanded in custody and charged with one count of contaminating goods and two of administering a noxious substance.
