The September 2011 issue of Drug Safety Update from the MHRA features a ‘hot topic’ article describing the positive impact of the restrictions on sales of pseudoephedrine and ephedrine containing medicines. The Commission on Human Medicines has commended the pharmacy profession for their substantial contribution to managing the risk of misuse and recommend that existing levels of monitoring, education, and awareness measures by pharmacists should be maintained.
