PharmaTimes has reported that the European Commission has approved a triple combination antihypertensive with aliskiren, amlodipine and hydrochlorothiazide (Rasitrio). According to the report, the approval is based on the results of a phase III trial involving 1,181 patients which showed that the triple combination produced statistically significant blood pressure reductions compared to dual combinations of the individual components of the product.
