The draft NICE quality standard for hip fracture (management and secondary prevention in adults) is now available for consultation. The quality standard covers only fragility fracture of the hip due to osteoporosis or osteopenia. Fragility fracture is defined as fracture caused by forces equivalent to a fall from standing height or less.

The consultation period will end at 5pm on 30 November 2011.
