The European Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) has adopted a negative opinion on the application for license extension of sodium oxybate (Xyrem) and recommended that the current indication should not be extended to include its use for the treatment of fibromyalgia.
