Changes to portfolio of nationally commissioned services

The Advisory Group for National Specialised Services (AGNSS) makes recommendations to ministers on highly specialised services which should be commissioned nationally. The following eight services, which were formerly commissioned by PCTs, will be added to the national portfolio of services from April 2011 and will be commissioned on behalf of SHAs by the National Specialised Commissioning Team.

 

• Autologous intestinal reconstruction in adult patients

• Paediatric intestinal pseudo-obstructive disorders

• Complex childhood osteogenesis imperfecta

• Insulin-resistant diabetes service

• Lymphangioleiomyomatosis

• Stickler syndrome diagnostic service

• Veterans’ post-traumatic stress disorder programme

• Wolfram syndrome
