The MHRA is urging healthcare professionals to report any cases of suspected adverse drug reactions associated with intra-articular administration of local anaesthetics.  This follows reports received by the US FDA of chondrolysis involving patients given continuous intra-articular infusions of local anaesthetics (with or without epinephrine/ adrenaline) to control pain after surgery.  The MHRA has received no such report from UK sources to date.
