The Chief Medical Officer for England has published a statistical bulletin and update on pandemic H1N1 (2009) Influenza, noting that swine flu cases remain near their lowest level since the early stages of the disease in the UK. In light of these low levels in the community, he has confirmed the decision to stand down the National Pandemic Flu Service (NPFS) effective 11th February 2010. Individuals with suspected H1N1 (2009) influenza should stay at home and contact their GP for an assessment after that date. The pandemic H1N1 (2009) vaccination programme is still being delivered.
