The European Medicines Agency’s Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) has adopted a positive opinion recommending the granting of a marketing authorisation for amifampridine (Zenas®) for the symptomatic treatment of Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome (LEMS) in adults, a rare disorder of neuromuscular transmission caused by impaired presynaptic release of acetylcholine.
