This article in the Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin (DTB) reviews the evidence for BNP testing in the diagnosis of chronic heart failure and practical implications. It concludes “currently, access to BNP tests is not uniform throughout the UK. We believe that the tests should be available to all to aid the diagnosis of chronic heart failure, particularly where there is no reliably prompt access to echocardiography.”
