The Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) has adopted a positive opinion, recommending that silodosin (Urorec® and Silodyx®) be granted marketing authorisations for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).  Silodosin is a selective antagonist of the α1A-adrenoreceptors.
