MHRA announces reclassification from P to GSL for salicylic acid with lactic acid for warts, and topical dimeticone for headlice

The MHRA has announced the following reclassifications of medicines from pharmacy (P) to general sales list (GSL):

• Salicylic acid 12% in combination with lactic acid 4% may be supplied on general sale for the topical treatment of warts, verrucas, corns and calluses in adults, the elderly, and children over 2 years old.
• Dimeticone 4% may be supplied on general sale for the eradication of headlice infestations in adults and children aged 6 months and over.
