The Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) has issued a positive opinion on extending the license of valsartan (Diovan®) to include the treatment of children and adolescents aged between 6 and 18 years with hypertension. The Committee also recommended a line extension to include an oral solution suitable for paediatric use.
