US FDA approves levocetirizine for children aged 6 months and older for the management of perennial allergic rhinitis

According to a report by BioSpace, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the use of levocetirizine (Xyzal) for the relief of symptoms of perennial allergic rhinitis (indoor allergies) in children aged 6 months and over, and for chronic idiopathic urticaria (chronic hives) for children age two years and above.

 

In the UK, levecetirizine is currently licensed for the symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis (including persistent allergic rhinitis) and chronic idiopathic urticaria in children aged over 2 years.
