This report summarises findings of an evidence review which was carried out to inform a review of the community pharmacy services provided under the Public Health Service (PHS)1 element of the Community Pharmacy Contract introduced in Aug 2008.  There are two patient-focussed services provided under PHS by community pharmacies:

A smoking cessation service to help those who wish to stop smoking by providing a course of up to 12 weeks nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) and advice; and

A sexual health service which provides free access to emergency hormonal contraception (EHC).
