This CKS topic covers the prevention of osteoporotic fragility fractures in men and women with osteoporosis.  It is based on the relevant NICE guidance on the prevention of fragility fractures in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis, and takes account of guidelines published by the UK National Osteoporosis Guidelines Group (NOGG), the International Osteoporosis Foundation (previously the European Foundation for Osteoporosis and Bone Disease), and the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN).
