NICE has updated their guidance on the treatment and management of depression in adults (CG90). This guideline replaces clinical guideline 23 and is published alongside ‘Depression in adults with a chronic physical health problem: treatment and management’ (CG91), which makes recommendations on the identification, treatment and management of depression in adults aged 18 years and older who also have a chronic physical health problem.
The updated guideline has revised many areas of the previous guideline. There are also new chapters on the experience of depression for people with depression and carers (Chapter 4) and on the treatment and management of subthreshold depressive symptoms (Chapter 13).
