The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has issued an updated clinical guideline (CG 117) on the diagnosis and management of tuberculosis (TB). The guideline offers evidence-based advice on the diagnosis and treatment of active and latent tuberculosis in adults and children, and on preventing the spread of tuberculosis, but does not explain tuberculosis or its treatments in detail.
With respect to the drug management of the various types of TB, such as respiratory, bone and joint, pericardial etc. the guideline has not changed recommendations since the publication of the previous guideline.
