This Topic Review covers the use of antiplatelet drugs for the prevention of cardiovascular events. The target populations are people with established cardiovascular disease (secondary prevention) and those who do not yet have clinically apparent cardiovascular disease but are at high risk of cardiovascular events (primary prevention).

 

This Topic Review particularly focuses on the prescribing issues for antiplatelet drugs and how to minimise the possibility of adverse gastrointestinal events in people with dyspepsia or peptic ulcer disease, or who are at increased risk of GI adverse effects.  Please see the link below for details.
