In the absence of a submission from the holder of the marketing authorisation, the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) does not recommend conestat alfa (Ruconest) for use within NHS Scotland as a treatment of acute angioedema attacks in adults with hereditary angioedema (HAE) due to C1 esterase inhibitor deficiency.
