In the absence of a submission from the holder of the marketing authorisation, the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) does not recommend Seroquel XL (quetiapine) for use within NHS Scotland as add-on treatment of major depressive episodes in patients with major depressive disorder, who have had sub-optimal response to antidepressant monotherapy.
