The Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) has accepted for use within NHS Scotland Actikerall® (fluorouracil 0.5% / salicylic acid 10% cutaneous solution) for the topical treatment of slightly palpable and/or moderately thick hyperkeratotic actinic keratosis (grade I/II) in immunocompetent adult patients. The SMC notes that this preparation was superior to another topical treatment for the histological clearance of a specified target actinic keratosis lesion.
