The Scottish Medicines Consortium has accepted somatropin solution for injection (Saizen®) for use within NHS Scotland for its licensed indications.  The Drug advice (available at the link below) notes that this new formulation has been shown to be bioequivalent to the previously available freeze-dried formulation, and it is available at an equivalent cost.  In addition, it is available as a ready to use cartridge and therefore has the benefit of not requiring any reconstitution.
