The Scottish Medicines Consortium has announced that it has approved restricted use of alteplase 2mg powder and solvent for solution for injection (Actilyse Cathflo®) for use within NHS Scotland, for the thrombolytic treatment of occluded central venous access devices including those used for haemodialysis.

 

The product is restricted to use where alteplase is the product of choice for the treatment of occluded venous access devices.
