The Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) has accepted calcipotriol and betamethasone dipropionate scalp gel (Xamiol®) for use within NHS Scotland for the topical treatment of scalp psoriasis. The drug advice (see link below for details) notes that short-term comparisons have shown that the combination is more effective than either component used as monotherapy.
