A New and Emerging Technology Briefing from the National Horizon Scanning Centre on the use of milnacipran for fibromyalgia.

Milnacipran is the first in a new class of dual-action antidepressants known as norepinephrine serotonin reuptake inhibitors (NSRIs). Its serotonin inhibition is likely to improve depression, whilst the norepinephrine inihibition may improve chronic pain.
