EU approval for aripiprazole for the treatment of schizophrenia in adolescents aged 15 years and older was granted in July 2009. This review evaluates the evidence supporting aripiprazole use in adolescents with schizophrenia. One short term placebo-controlled RCT, one unpublished open label extension trial and one combined safety analysis are discussed.
