In its Final Appraisal Report, the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG) has supported the use, within NHS Wales, of intravenous topotecan (Hycamtin™) in combination with cisplatin, for the treatment of patients with carcinoma of the cervix recurrent after radiotherapy and for patients with Stage IVB disease. It is restricted for use in patients who are cisplatin-naïve.
This treatment is not suitable for shared care within NHS Wales.
