In its Final Appraisal Recommendation, the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG) is supporting the use of sunitinib (Sutent®) within NHS Wales for the treatment of unresectable or metastatic, well-differentiated pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (pNET) with disease progression in adults. It was noted that experience with sunitinib as a first-line treatment is limited.

The AWMSG recommendation has been based on an approved patient access scheme.This treatment is not considered suitable for shared care within NHS Wales for the above indication.
