In its Final Appraisal Report, the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG) has recommended that icatibant acetate (Firazyr®) should not be used within NHS Wales for the symptomatic treatment of acute attacks of hereditary angioedema (HAE) in adults with C1-esterase-inhibitor deficiency. The group noted that the case for cost effectiveness had not been proven.
